Re: NWR- long island location help
I lived in Merrick and commuted to the city to teach everyday and it took about 45 minutes to drive into the Bronx - around that, maybe a bit shorter depending on where in Manhattan he might be going.
It was also an awesome commute from the Merrick LIRR - granted I still had to take the subway afterwards, but 50 min to Penn was a relaxing ride and I could read, grade etc the few times I did that instead. I have friends who are commuting into Manhattan as buyers who still live in Merrick and they enjoy it as well.

But really any thing that is on the Babylon line on the LIRR (if you decide to take the train) as it has the most frequent trains.

POrt Washington or Great Neck. Is Queens a possibility or do you have to be on LI? We live in Forest Hills and it's 30 muintes via subway, 15 minutes via LIRR and my fiance commutes 30 minutes to Plainview.

Port Washington Line is nice because it does not go through Jamaica....which can have issues!

Totally agree that RVC is a great location. It is young and a short drive to the beach. Long Beach isn't bad either, but maybe I am bias now since I transplanted from RVC to LB.
