Okay - so we totally live backed up to a forest type thing (complete with river about a mile back) & deer are every day sightings..
Look at who we recently found in our backyard!! I don't know if he's a beaver, but I call him my beaver friend...
The first pic is the pic I took of the little dude in my backyard.
The second and third pics are from a google search on Woodchucks.

Definitely! We also have chipmunks, deer, skunk and racoon!!!

Definitely! We also have chipmunks, deer, skunk and racoon!!!
ok so i am gonna come over and play with the deer, the ground hog and the chipmuks....you can have the skunks and racoons!! lmao

ok so i am gonna come over and play with the deer, the ground hog and the chipmuks....you can have the skunks and racoons!! lmao
all those animals are fine by me but the skunks...stinky i hate when they spray that smell it stays in the air for hours. We had them at school. Well your woodchuck is quite cute. How did you get that close to take such a good picture?

He's a groundhog! My mom has them in her yard and they eat everything and dig holes all over the yard. She has people come and remove them from the property. They destroy your yard.

My back door overlooks the backyard - on a raised deck. I looked out the door - saw him and when his back was to me - I took the pics and snuck outside... I have a VERY good camera - he was close - but not THAT close.. :)
No holes in the yard at all btw...he just eats the grass, etc...there's not a single hole back there!

my FH just said 'HA!!' and walked away...
he told me it was a wood chuck when i first saw the post.... i in turn told him that HE was a woodchuck... i hate it when he's right.

My FH just kept saying the whole how much wood thing and then keeps saying how funny i finally found out what he is on a bridal board! I said i titled the post NWR and explained it - but he still thinks it's silly..

he looks kinda like a Ground Hog... but the only ground hog i've ever seen is the ones on tv for ground hogs day and sometimes those guys are wearing clothes... so i have no idea.
i dont think he's a beaver though, b/c his tail doesnt look quite right.
