I am trying to plan an eventual vacation for the DH and I. I am dying to eventually go to South Beach Miami, or just somewhere in Miami. I have a difficult time booking places sight unseen so I am asking my trustworthy liweddings girls. Has anyone been to Miami that can suggest a hotel? Or give any input what so ever? Good or bad. Pictures would be fabulous too!!!

well I was born and raised in Miami - I would recommend the fountain blue (sp?) it is one of the best hotels down there :)

i just got back from Miami (like, literally, landed at 7PM). I stayed at the gansevoort, and it was gorgeous, but it feels pretty 'incomplete' i think they're still beautifying the hotel, so it's a little ghetto in certain spots... BUT... their rooftop pool makes it all worth staying there. it's 100% incredible and the chairs are free of charge for guests. it is the best pool spot. next time, though, i might try the W. that hotel is freaking stunning. i'd love the fountainbleu too, but it's a little on the pricey side.

Fountain bleau was awesome. We went for Miami West Indian Carnival and stayed there.

Just do NOT stay at Hotel Astor. We were in Boca Raton this summer and drove down to Miami for one night, and it was our worst hotel experience ever.

Ive stayed at the shelbourne and then there is the Palm hotel which i hear great things about but i know its expensive!
