NWR: Microdermabrasion - UPDATE

Has anyone had this done? I am going tonight and I am a little nervous, I am afraid it is going to make me breakout...does it hurt?!?

IT WAS AMAZING....if you've ever been licked by a cat that is what it felt like, lol. It actually felt awesome because I knew they were sucking away the dead skin. I wasn't bad after either at all, face felt a little tight and a little red but nothing alarming! I highly recommend it if anyone is looking into doing it. I am going to go again in 3 weeks. Stacy was amazing at Spa 190

Re: NWR: Microdermabrasion

my FMIL does this, she is the spa manager at Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon in Woodbury. I am trying to convince myself to go make an appointment to get it done with her. But she said it hurts a little if you have never had it done but it is very refreshing and usually if you don't have overly sensitive skin you will be fine and not break out!!!

Good Luck!! Definitely let us know how it works out!!!

I am nervous that it hurts a little...nothing can be more painful to me though than getting my eyebrows done, I swear I am tearing the entire time they do it.

I have it done regularly at my dermo's office for about 5 months, once a month . she uses something called silk peel. I have never broke out from it , and I have a few cystic scars . It doesn't feel great , and you will be a little red depending if they do extractions .

It has helped TONS with the scars, and they should give you a special wash and lotion to use for the three days afterwards , do not exfoliate for a few days

omg i got my eyebrows waxed 2 weeks ago and i was tearing the whole entire time it was soo painful. it wasn't the waxing that was painful though it was the plucking. but i STILL have tiny little bumps above my eyebrows and it was 2 weeks ago so i think I might have to go to threading which i am dreading haha

if i remember correctly what FMIL told me it actually exfoliates the top layer of skin, or peels off the top layer of skin...definitely not 100% sure so correct me if i am wrong anyone!!

Re: NWR: Microdermabrasion

My BF's mother gets it done every once in a while and she didn't say it 'hurt' and she didn't break out either. She was just red for a few days. I'm a little hesitant about peels since my skin is so sensitive I think I'd rather just get a facial. Good luck!

Even the threading kills me! I think I am just so sensitive to it and they make you stare up at the white lights my eyes start tearing..the only time I never really teared was when I went to this really awesome girl who was an eyebrow 'guru' lol she was the best...

facials will make you break out! I know I do from them. It doesnt hurt that bad, it feels like a suction cup on you skin being lifted . It isnt that bad , i promise and it is NOTHING like waxing pain

Facials I've had before and never broke out, I just called the salon and asked them all the things we've been talking about, she said it doesn't hurt at all ( I am sure she has to say that!) and she said everyone's skin is different so the woman will speak to me prior too..I think I am more concerened about the pain than the redness bc I am kind of red already from the sun this past weekend. And the waxing ... if i can do the brazillian i can suffer through some sand being blasted in my face

I remember you suggested spa 190 ( I think), but I didn't go to them because I was told that if you have sensitive skin it is not recommended. I went to Joseph Christophers in Long Beach instead. I had a procedure that's more natural and they said it's a little less than the microdermabrasion. Good thing I asked first otherwise I would have probably had a breakout. I loved my facial, my makeup looks so much better on me now.

I get microdermabrasion every 3 months. It hurts very little but it leaves your skin soooo smooth afterwards. I break out from facials, but not the micro. You are a little red after, but that goes away. Try it, you will be hooked. I go to Smooth Synergy Medical Spa in NYC 56th and Lex

It only hurts a little ( the silk peal that I get anyway ) , but if you are looking for extractions ( white heads, black heads ect) then a facial is better. the microderm is better for spotting, scars , ect and exfoliation

Yeah that is where I am going to go, Spa 190, I normally don't break out so I will keep my fingers crossed!

I go to Spa 190 and i actually got a microdermabrasion done last weekend. It doesnt hurt as bad as it sounds. I was nervous i would be swollen and really red when i came out but i actually wasnt. Definitly go, its totally worth it.
