NWR- mini getaway

Hi ladies...can anyone suggest a mini one or two night getaway? Preferably in the tri state area? FH has been really stressed with work and I was thinking of surprising him and taking him somewhere in January when he has a few days off. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

if you do a two night getaway, you should stay at an inn in vermont! The West Dover Inn is beautiful, and so is the Quechee Inn... both are in diff. locations of vermont, but it's so relaxing there :) my FH and I also LOVE to ski/snowboard, so vermont is a place we visit often

If you wanted to go somewhere closer, i think the poconos is really nice place to go.. again, skiing is awesome here too!

Grand cascades lodge is amazing and relatively local on the ny/nj border! Look it up, so fun. I'm going back in jan for our engagaversary.

How about the Poconos? There are quite a few places to go. You could go skiing, to an indoor water park,or even to a casino.

Saybrook Inn and Spa in CT, they have a spa, fireplace in the room it is so cozy and romantic. Pack some wine and cheese and have it by the fire. FH and I went last year and had such a nice time

fh and I like mystic ct very reasonable nothing fancy there is an aquarium, old mystic village and it's mins from Mohegan Sun which we like alot too. we were gonna go Saturday for my bday rooms were only $50-$70 a night!

I just got a book for Christmas it's the New York TImes 36 hours - Top 150 weekend getaways in the US and Canada. I've been looking through it and Rhode Island sounds awesome!
