NWR-Monogamy

Ok, so I just got done reading an article that Kate Hudson was featured in. She said 'I don't believe (monogamy) is realistic. But, I believe that we, as people, have the power to make it happen.' So I'm having a Carrie from SATC moment. Is monogamy possible?

Yes, I think monogamy is possible. I think Kate Hudson is a moron.

But I do just have to say that I think it's funny that the title of your subject line is:

Not Wedding Related: Monogamy

That just struck me as funny!

Of course it's possible!! Otherwise, what are we all doing here?

And the subject title amused me as well!!!

I think it's a justification for her to be unfaithful.

If you really love the person you married and is completelly satisfied, there is absolutelly no reason to go 'somewhere else'.

Yes, it's 100% possible.

People make conscious choices to be faithful or unfaithful. I don't think the concept of monogamy is at all unrealistic.

i completely agree with the previous posters... it is posible. it is something we choose to do. no one is faithful or unfaithful accidentally.

i also am very amused by the title of the thread

Sure it's possible, anything is possible.

I would agree though, that the concept of monogamy itself is unrealistic.

I want to think humans are like penguins and have the same mate for life! K, so that was my SATC post!

Of course monogomy is possible and there is no good excuse for cheating, ESPECIALLY the whole 'I was so drunk...' thing. That one really aggrivates me when I hear it because there's no amount of alcohol where I'd willingly sleep with someone else. I can't even cheat on FH in my DREAMS!! No joke, I had a dream with Vince Vaughn in it (I just love him, he's so funny) and he wanted to ask me out and I told him 'Sorry, I'm getting married.' And that's not the first time either!!

i guess for some people, its easier to cheat and use an excuse. personally, as long as we're marrying the person we love and both parties want to go through whatever steps are necessary to make it work, then monogamy isn't hard.

i can't see myself straying from my man nor can i see him straying from me - not to say we don't fantasize about celebs from time to time -- but we'd never go through w/our fantasy!!!

totally possible. I think people forget that just b/cus you get married doesn't mean the dating should stop and they get into this rut of everyday and then it seems to appear that the grass is greener on the other side. I think if you put your committment to your spouse on top your priority list monogamy is completely possible.

kate hudson does not live in reality-- she lives in 'fantasyland' with most of the other celebs of the world-- they could all say HELLO to the tin man for me b/c they are living in OZ! it drives me crazy b/c they are SO naive, out of touch and unrealistic The concept of monogamy has been in existence since the dawn of our time-- of course it exists... and who died and made her the authority?!

ugh, sorry it's saturday night and i'm PMSing!

but, i definitely think it exists-- if it is for you. some people cannot be monogamous... and that's fine for them as long as they are honest and up front about it. i am a big fan of monogamy myself-- i think it shows respect, dignity and self control. and i think it's awesome that we all have that!

btw, funny post title
