NWR: More info concerning using internet at work....

I just found out that my employer can pull up the screen on my computer and see what I am doing. They also check the history and will use that against you if there is a problem. I feel so violated and needless to say, I won't be using the interenet at work anymore

The people at work have that right. If you use their equipment and their internet connection, someone somewhere is probably watching the internet activity. Everything is linked and at a moment's notice you're screen could be pulled up on someone's computer to see what is going on.

Just an FYI too.. don't think this only happens at work. DSL and cable internet providers do the same thing - as part of their 'on-going attempt to provide you with better service'. They can see where you go, where you've been and check out what you've been doing.

Also some websites track your activity. They can log what web address you came from and what web address you're going to - as another attempt ' to better identify the needs of their visitors'. For example, If i head to mtv.com - mtv.com may have the capability to see (and record) that I just came from LiWeddings.com and then see I left mtv.com to go to maggiesottero.com.

There's a whole lot of Big Brother out there.
