nwr: MOTOROLA RAZR PHONE question

Original post by weddingbunny

Hey ladies. Does anybody here have a motorola razr phone? If so, how do you like it? How well does it work? How long have you had it for? Any problems?

My cell phone conked out, so I'm shopping around for a new one, and considering the razr because I like the idea of being able to shove it in my pocket so easily. Is it really durable enough for that, even though it's so thin?

anything you can tell me will be great. thanks!

You need to seperating the problems into these categories:

1. Service (Cingular, Verizon, Sprint) - this is the cause of static, dropped calls, problems connecting. Not the phone.

2. Charging your battery. As with all rechargables, you should only be charging it when the battery is spent. You decrease the reliability of a battery dramatically when you charge it every day even if it doesn't need it. Or you leave the phone in temperature extremes. Graphic intensive screensavers and backgrounds also affect battery performance.

3. Phone memory card. This is what stores your voice dial, phone numbers, etc. I notice when the memory card is full, it takes longer to cycle through my list of numbers or punch in a new one. And yes, I filled up the memory - by putting voice dial on ALL my wedding vendors!

I'm just trying to say that you can't always blame all problems on the phone. I switched to Cingular when we got our RAZR phones and I regret it now. I want my Sprint back.

But I have no problems with the phone and I love it. There were recalls of a batch of phones a while back so do your research. But take whatever opinions you get with a grain of salt until you try it yourself.
