My family and I (until I get married and live with FH in Whitestone) are looking to buy a house in LI, because we have to move really soon. They wanted to move to Bayside, Queens but now that my sis found a house in Suffolk they want to move to LI. WHich is a really nice town?

Floral park, New Hyde park, Stewart Manor are really nice! FH and I are probably going to rent an apartment there after we're married.

Re: NWR: Moving to Long Island
There are a lot of nice towns on LI... it's all about what you're looking for: South Shore, North Shore? Major Roads? Beaches? Centrally located, middle of nowhere?
It's all very subjective, what I may think is great, someone else might think it's poo.
EAT: Also, what's your price range.... certain places are waaaaay more expensive than others.

Re: NWR: Moving to Long Island
Yeah nothing tooo expensive, nothing over 600,000, I think. Somewhere where I can access all major highways, close to the beach would be nice but not really that far, close to the mall would be greattttttt . Queens has to be really close. Both North/South Shore are nice. Somewhere where I can be close to my RH, hahahaah, just kidding. Not the middle of no-where. My sis wants to go out to Medford, that is farrr

I would look into Levittown, East Meadow, Baldwin, Oceanside, Bellmore.... I'm not super familiar with Nassau, but I know these places are nice... all on the South Shore and all near the Southern State.
Check out MLSLI ... it's such a great resource!!! You'll be able to find listings that suit your needs.
good luck!

Don't know how important school districts are to you and your family, but be sure and check that out for Nassau. The districts tend to vary alot from town to town.
Good Luck

Re: NWR: Moving to Long Island
Medford is too far from what? Where do you work? Would you rather be closer to family? How many beds/baths? How big of a property lot do you want?
I agree that NHP and Floral Park are really nice areas but it might be worth a shot to check out some houses in Suffolk.
ETA: I live and work in Suffolk. My job is in Port Jefferson so I wouldn't move much farther west than where I am now.
A town like Medford is close to the LIE and Sunrise Hwy.
