NWR---My DR stinks....Some hugs needed..Updated

I will try to keep it Short....

I have been having really bad shortness of breath and a very uncomfortable pain on my right side more towards the back, so my DR sends me for a abdominal and pelvic sonogram, almost 2 weeks ago....So I call today for the results and the lady tells me you have a swollen spleen and something is wrong with your kidney.........UMM HELLO...what does that mean. Now this was all at 10:30 this morning, I told the lady that I wanted the DR to call me back today to discuss what this means, she took my number and said she would give the file to the DR. Now I am a worry wart and I have been crying all day about this.... About 15 mins ago my mother calls me to tell me the DR called her house for me....once again HELLLO I gave them my number to call not my mothers...so I called the DRs office back to let them know they need to call the number that I gave them and not my mothers number.....and I am still waiting....
I understand the DR has patients to see but it is 7pm.....


So the DR finally called and they think it is a Kidney stone and as far as the spleen that may just be a normal thing for me....those are there words. So now I have to go for a CT Scan to check and make sure that is what it is....

I am sorry you don't feel well, I would call back the office and demand to speak with the doctor NOW.. it's after 7:30.. it's insane for you to wait like this...

Take a deep breath. I work with Dr.'s so i'm just going to tell you that he can't tell you anything over the phone. He's going to tell you to come in and see him. Don't freak out. There is a reason for this. It's called HIPPA and it has to do with patient privacy and confidentiality. You may have a little infection that some antibiotics can take care of but bc of the law- he's going to tell you to come in. So stop thinking the worst and if you go to see him and you have any questions about anything- please FM me. I'm not a nurse, i'm a radiation therapist. (i work with cancer patients) it DOSEN'T mean you have cancer. It just means I know some fancy terms.

Should the urse woma have said aythig to her o the phoe.....I dot thik she should have right? What do I kow...I dot like doctors!!!!

My doctor discusses test results with me over the phone. He knows it's me or my proxy he can discuss it.

The doc will call you back. If you were in any danger he would have called you immediatley and sent you to the hospital.

Try to chill a little. The doc will call you back. Sending hugs..I hope you feel better soon.

The HIPAA laws are just as much about having access to ONES OWN information as they are about privacy. HIPAA is not meant to restrict a patient's access to his/her own information. The law has been misused, and way too often!

I am so sorry you are in pain . I hope you can get a fast cat scan appointment so you will feel better. Sometimes I wonder if some DR's where ever patients themselves.....Lots of hugs for you

DR can be so hard to get a hold of!
The CT Scan is reletivly painless, I'm claustrophic and was alright, my limbs fell asleep, that was the only pain!
I hope everything works out!

CT san should be easy. Hopefully you can pass that stone quickly..it can be painful.
