NWR: My LONG NYC Club Rant !! TENJUNE

Original post by AmorPeruano

Okay i know this has nothing to do with weddings but I have to vent!!!

I work part time freelancing for a NY newspaper and they assign me every 2 weeks to go check out restaurants, bars or clubs and then write a 200 word review about them.

So last night I was sent to a club I never heard of before called TENJUNE, on W12th St in NYC.

Supposidly this club is supposed to be some high affluent snooty type club that gives you a hard time getting in, but I never expected what I encountered when I got there!!!!

First of all, there was a guy in front of the club blocking parking spaces telling people that they had to PAY 20 DOLLARS to park on a public city street b/c it was the 'clubs space' and hes in charge of the cars...whatever the hell that means!! What a scam!!!! So if you DONT pay him, and you park there, youll run the risk of having him slash your tires or scratch you car up for you to find when you get back! So we ended up parking 6 blocks down and walked in the freezing cold to the club.

Once I get there, the bouncer is yelling, and I mean YELLING at a bunch of girls, telling them 'get in line or get on off MY sidewalk!' Oh I see, so the public parking spaces and the public sidewalk are now the club's as well!

People were desperate, trying to vy for the attention of the three bouncers 'Oh Alex...please...I know so and so. can you let me and my friends in?' Only to be completely and totally ignored and shunned as if they werent even there!

There were people there I talked to online that had table reservations (500 min per table) and they still were standing outside for over an hour in the cold!

I thought....are the walls of this club made of diamonds?? Does the DJ play music that gives you a damn orgasam? What in the hell is so damn special about this place that they can treat the potential patrons outside like a piece of s hit??

One cute guy came up and politely asked the bouncer if he could get in. The bouncer looked at him, looked at his friends and was like 'dont waste your time' and just smirked and walked away. When we first got there the doorman yells 'theres 2 lines on each side of the sidewalk!' 40 minutes later, another doorman comes out and says 'theres only one line on the right side!!' meaning Every Single Person on the left side was basically now F%#ked!!!!!!!

I'm 28, and true, I havent been in the NYC club scene in a couple of years. I used to go to Soundfactory, Exit and Tunnel every weekend, but that a many years ago when I was in my early twenties.

But never, not once in my life, did I ever see any place treat the people outside with such disrespect and straight out cruelness. I mean why even say the club is open to the public, its NOT. its open to celebrities , their sidekicks, and people who want to slip the doorman 100 dollar bill.

SAD!!!

Sorry girls, I just had to let that out! That was my Saturday night experience! Cant wait to write about it!!

You girls are bringing me down memory lane with all the club stories. My club days have come to an end but they were fun while they lasted (at least what I can remember of them). Now its more lounges and bars. But all the places you mention and then some.....to be young and carefree again hahahaha!

hey no reason you can't go anymore lol...even when i was single i didnt go to clubs to meet guys, i never did actually. My friends would say just go out on dates, or tell me to hang out with guys that would come up to me at clubs and i wouldn't...the funny thing is the one guy i did meet and gave a chance to was FH, but again i knew who he was for years and he was there with ppl i knew and i was there with someone he knew so i felt it was different...meeting random guys at clubs wasn't my thing.

BUT i LOOOOOOOOOOOVE dancing, i always say its my theraphy. For me theres nothing like being on that dance floor just dancing all night, not a care in the world...so bc of that i still love to go out, of course now i dont go out as much but thats bc we're saving for a wedding lol

Hahaha -- my club days aren't over because of the guys -- they are over because we are old. It didn't come to an abrupt stop -- it slowed down over the last few years and now I can't really remember the last time we went to one. FH and I were partiers before we knew each other and for a while after we started dating -- our bodies eventually told us enough was enough. I love to dance too but it seems we are wedding dance floors more then anything! It is funny too because we would never even think of not going out and now we are like -- if we stay in we will get a good night sleep, not spend the money and not be hung over tomorrow -- hahaha!
