So went to the library today and a nasty women hit my car with her car door, ignored me when i askied if she just hit me and if she did any damage (she told me to look myself!), and proceeded to tell me to go back to new city you @**## jew. SO i asked if she jsut calle dme a jew and she said, 'i didnt studder'! and walked inside the library!!! OMG i was in such shock i couldnt move. and she had her two little kids with her!!! I have never in my 26 years had someone be this cruel.. Plus i didnt do anything, she hit my car!!! So i left, b/c even if i got her license plate theirs no way to prove she hit my door. My family is so mad, my fiancee was fuming (and he's catholic).
what a way to ruin a nice saturday :(

I am sitting here completely disgusted by what that horrible woman did to you. It's wrong on so many levels, first for damaging someone's property, second for not appologizing, third for being rude, fourth for insulting you and fifth for doing it in front of her children - way to set an example for the next generation! You're definitely the bigger person for not retaliating and damaging her car or saying something awful back to her. I have to believe karma is a b*#^@% and her horrendous behavior will come back to her 10 fold!!!

I am so sorry that this happened to you.. people really s*ck sometimes.. I would have cursed her out though.. and then slashed her tires once she went inside!!!

some people are just so unhappy in life that being nasty to others makes them feel good . i look at people like that with pity . on a happy note i see your getting married at the marina which is one great place did you see the new website that place is so amazing . so think of fabulous things people like that are a tiny speck in the universe. HAPPY THOUGHTS

and see, that woman makes all the non-jewish women look bad. that is just awful....this coming from the girl who wouldn't know how to tell a person is jewish unless they are wearing a sign!!! but still....that is just awful...i am really sorry she treated you like that and that she did so in front of her own children...just think, that's their role model...a selfish, ugly woman. just pitiful.

That is soooo uncalled for! Some people just plan $UCK!! I would have had some words for her! Good for you for being better than her.. i feel bad for her kids.. hopefully they will be able to overcome their mom's TERRIBLE influence!

that is a HORRIBLE situation and it would leave me shaken as well. but you are such a wonderful person to not even respond! all i can say is that this woman must have a pretty miserable life to react this way. and you have a life that is the opposite with ppl who love you and so much to look fwd to! there is so much hate in teh world, it's horrible when we are confronted with it in small doses.

to me it was a racial slur b/c she said you *@*$ jew, it's not like i was having a conversation with my friends and I mentioned my friend is a jew who went to Israel last year (just an example). Totally differnt context, this women was trying to be rude and start something she couldn't finish, so yes the way she said it was extremely insulting! plus when i asked her if she just called me that, her reply of 'i didn't studder' also indicated where she was going with it

In this context it definitely is.

The word 'Jew' is a noun.
'Jewish' is an adjective.

Judaism is not a race. It is a religion and an ethnicity.

In the context of which it was used, it was most certainly an ethnic slur but not a racial one. Regardless it was hurtrful and most certainly uncalled for.

I have come across many ethnic slurs and negative commentary in my life time. I have had the same people call me cheap and rich at the same time. I am neither. I have had people look at me and say 'You don't LOOK Jewish.' I have had people ask 'Who did your nose?' implying that since I am a Jew with a small nose, I must have had it fixed. I didn't. I have had people imply that my Daddy gave me everything I ever wanted. No, he gave me everythng I ever needed - the same as any other GOOD parent. A home, food and an education. My first roommate from college (in '88)was waiting for the horns to come out of my head when she found out I was Jewish. It was not an easy co-existence.

I don't know why or how these stereotypes are still perpetuated but they don't and won't stop any time soon. Every ethnic group has their share of adversity. The best thing to do is go on and teach your own children that intolerance is dangerous and destructive.
