nwr-need advice please

nwr-need advice please

I rarely post on the boards, but I often read posts and think you ladies give great advice. I recently got a new job. During the interview I was told I would only have to work one day of the weekend. A few days ago I went in to meet with my new boss and she asked that since I'm the new person on staff would I be willing to work saturdays and sundays. I said yes, but now i regret it. FH is a teacher and only has weekends off. Should I try and talk with her about it? this is long-sorry.

i would work for a month or two and then re-visit the weekend issue. its going to s uck, but at least give it a shot. after a month or 2, speak to yoru manager and see what he/she says

id talk to her again. id say that the interview required some weekends - and that you are ok with some but you cant guarantee every weekend. see if she can workout a schedule with you so that its fair. approach her in a nice and humble way and i am sure she will work with you.
i think you will regret it if you dont speak up now.

I would speak to her about the original agreement that was given to you on the interview...Explain that you can not give them every weekend but that you don't mind working JUST saturdays...if they don't cooperate, I would work the 2 days for about 1 1/2 months & then revisit the subject with the boss

I would try it for a couple of months- work extra hard and show them how valuable you are!! After that, revisit the issue and they will most likely be more flexible with you:)

Thanks for the advice. I think I may try to talk with her about it. I'll see how brave I'm feeling.
