One of my BMs lives in Oregon and will be almost 6 months preggo on my wedding. She just found out that it's a boy
What can I buy for her (to give her while she's here in NY) that she could easily transport on the airplane with her?
I'd like to spend around $100 and be cute and unique (but obviously not heavy or big). Also, I prefer to stay away from gift cards
any ideas?

I recommend buying her diaper bag and stuffing it will all of the baby essentials. DO NOT FORGET the Butt Paste and yes that is the name of it. Every mom I know swears by it.
Or go with the tried and true boppy with boppy cover and get the changing table basket and fill it with diapers, butt paste all of the lotions, cleaning stuff etc.

i was going to say a diaper bag with clothes and stuff in it!

I got my sister a custom diaper bag (it's fun to pick out fabric!) on etsy and stuffed it with outfits, diapers, etc. I used the etsy seller savaria (who was soooooooo great to work with). I also got her something off her registry and had the option of shipping it to her, so you can always do that. I went a little overboard on gifts, but these two can be easily replicated!

there are a TON of different diaper bags ... does she have a registry yet? ... my FSIL is due right around our wedding and she just found out she's having a ... FH and i went last weekend and bought her diaper bag off the registry and we're buying clothes here and there to stuff the bag ...

I just sent today my bff who gave birth back home a Channa plaque with the 's name on it. I designed it with the colors she used for the baby room my friend didnt want me to get anything esp not clothing so I thought something small like this (as I had to ship to israel) she would love
will update ya when will receive some feedback from her
ps. and my DH printed on a greeting card our wedding pic so it came out as fi we have our own customized greeting cards and I wrote this long braha for her

She's not planning on making a registry since she isn't having a baby shower at all (she doesn't really know too many people in Oregon)
so all diaper bags are created equal then? it's just about the fabric i choose??

Check and make sure she didn't register somewhere. I've seen some nice 'designer' diaper bags.

Since you want to keep the gift in the $100 range I would look for the bag at Babies R Us, Target or Walmart.

I got the custom made diaper bag for around $100, but you can definitely get less expensive ones made (or buy less expensive ones). Just make sure it goes with the mom's style. No mom wants to carry around an ugly diaper bag. But, no dad wants to carry a flowered one

Some people out their are anal.
Check for registry first.
Diapers, diapers, more diapers.
She's going to get a million newborn outfits and receiving blankets. How about some 6 month clothes?
Or a swing?
Or can you ask her DH to help you get some gift certs to a place near where she lives? So she can get a pedicure when she can't even see her feet anymore
