NWR: Need Gift Help!

ok i am going to a surprise 50th bday party for my boss this saturday. I have no idea what to get him as a gift.

the hard part is that he recently had gastric bypass and lost a ton of weight. so no food/alcohol bc he really can't eat/drink much.

any other suggestions?

Do you like buying people giftcards? (Some people feel they're impersonal; I actually love them)
If so, maybe a giftcard to a clothing store - if he's lost a lot of weight, then surely he's in need of updating his wardrobe a bit.

I always think that certain monogram items are nice. A money clip or tie clip, cuff links, etc.

thanks girls...a gift certificate wouldnt be bad but i wouldnt know what store.

he owns a boat and i know he loves going on that so i was trying to think of something nautical but i have no clue..

You can do something general like Macy's, where he can get boat-y type clothing. Does that make sense? Like Nautica or Ralph Lauren..
