We are making yams from a can for Chrsitmas dinner. There are no directions on how to cook them. It's yam in light sryup in a can. Do we boil them? Bake them? Anyone? HELP!!!

I just looked up some recipes and it seems that canned yams are drained and then mixed with whatever you are putting in them (if anything) and then they are baked.

Drain SOME of the juice out of the can. Put them in a pyrex type dish to bake. Add your own: sugar, butter, nutmeg, cinnamon, (my mom adds a little lemon extract also), all to taste. Put them in the oven on 375 for 30 to 45 minutes. Then, YUM! Hope that helps.

my mom puts butter and cinnamon a little nutmeg and bakes with brown sugar on top
