FH's car broke down last night and needs a new engine. we were planning on buying him a new car after the wedding in 4 months. we cant afford to buy a new one now because he currently has no payments and we need to keep it that way to save for the wedding.
is anyone selling a hoopty for a few hundred bucks or know someone who is? we need a car that can last him the next 4 months just to get back and forth to work.
this couldnt have happened at a worse time for us

I looked on craigslist briefly this morning and a lot of the cars either needed work or they were just being sold for parts. I’m gonna look again though at lunch

yikes that suckkks. what iffff... u use zipcar?? not sure how much it costs.. but i guess he can use the car only when he REALLLLY needs to?

i feel your pain!!! we had the same issue a few months ago.... FH inspection was due and his car would never pass..
he drived it a total of 5 miles a day for work RT!!!!
we actually had to sprnd $1500 to fix it... in the long run it was more money, but we needed the flow...

you should try to find a car auction...andy always finds cars this way. you can get something for a few hundred bucks there....a lot of the time the cars are actually pretty good since they usually the ones police tow. - hth
