NWR: need job related advice ASAP!!!

oK, so before I make a scene or make an a$$ outta myself, please help me!!!

As some of you know I have had it with the job I am currently at. BEYOND FED UP. I got a promotion, no raise, and my raise keeps getting pushed...they poo on me left and right... they could care less about my wedding so on and so forth...

So this morning, they decided that they want to send me to another state for 1/2 a week to do the job of someone else, a position that has nothing to do with me. I DO NOT feel like this is my place AT ALL. For a number of reasons #1. If i screw up its my tush. Since I have no clue what to do... I will most likely make BIG mistakes #2. This is not the 1st time they have done this to me. They always put jobs on me that have nothing to do with me, have me do my best but still end of screwing up, and in the end of the day SCREAM at me for my mistakes. 3. THere is NO WAY that this is in my job description. NO WAY. #4. They degraded me in the meeting stating that I am not a team player... and continued to poo on me to the point where I never cry at work and I went to the bathroom and cried.

All my life I have been walked all over. I think i am being abused. And I want it to STOP.

I want to quit now. I was going to do it the smart way, find a job first, but I can't take the insults, the pressure and the STRESS anymore. It makes me sick. Literally. LIke I am never sick and I blame this place for the cold I have now.

Should I go to HR? I dunno what to do!!! If I get fired, will I still get unemployment? Or will they figure out a way to prevent it. Because the truth is this why they are doing this too me... b/c they want me gone and its easier for me to quit then get fired.

I need help fast!!!!

If they fire you they gotta provide unemployment.

Questions, Have you brought this up to your supervisors before? If so then I'd go to HR and explain everything. If not then i'd go to the supervisors first and see what they say.

WOAH HUN im so sorry this is happening to you and the way these fkn aholes are treating you - thats not right and you DONT deserve it.

I would DEF go to HR NOW.....NO need to wait any longer and I really think your happiness and sanity mean more than staying there and hearing these constant insults.....I am not sure how unemployment works but I am pretty sure with the way you were being mistreated, those should be grounds for receiving unemployment.

FK them and you DONT need to hear this crap from them! You shouldn't be getting put down or a guilt trip for not wanting to go somewhere or do something that you aren't required to do, let alone not paid for in the end...

Have you ever gone to them before and told them your concerns and how you think it's not fair that you get yelled at when your put on jobs that you know nothing about?

yes. and it ended in a SCREAMING match with her literally picking me apart. I was like ok, fire me than but I am not doing it. And she never fired me. She just made my life a living hell since than.

they can contest your unemployment but you can always request a hearing.

I honestly wouldnt put up with anyones bull$hit. I would record the way they have been treating you and play it for HR.

i wouldnt quit just yet. I am in a similar situation of hating my job and being walked all over. I wanna cry everyday that i am here....I am tempted everyday to just quit. But I have been looking for a job for over a year and nothing has come about so I can't just quit without securing a job. I think its too risky to do right now with the economy esp bc we are trying to save money for the wedding. Obv its your decision but just make sure you'd be ok financially if you can't find another job for awhile.

if you do get fired you would get unemployment (there are certain situations they can withhold it but thats usually only if u did something really bad to get fired).

def talk to your manager. if that doesnt work go to HR.

hope it gets better

The writing is on the wall, they want you to quit so they won't have to fire you and pay you unemployment.

Do not quit. It ***** that you have to deal with the crap they are giving you but if you quit, you only do it when you have another job offer in hand. And if that does happen, you simply give them 2 weeks notice and tell them you found another job that is better. Let them squeal to keep you there.

But right now, keep your head down low and just do the bare minimum to stay afloat. Do not give up or quit - let them make the decision to axe you so you can collect unemployment.

Of course, if you really find yourself in a situation where you just can't take it and then quit make sure you have at least 6-8 months of living expenses to cover yourself.

I'd go to HR then.

It stinks that in this economy we're all more concerned about having $ from unemployment then keep the word 'terminated' off a resume or job application.

And thats another thing to fear is the word termination...

I really wanted to make it. I did. But if this is what it takes, than I don't want it. I'm a strong person but it friggin is a terrible feeling when people whom you thought were happy with your work really in all do actuality could careless.

There is no value of self worth here....

STOP!!!
One thing I learned... they can read what you post online.. even if you're not posting at work, so if you 'mess up' in attempt to get fired they can deny you unemployment because you're not working upto standards.

Ask to see your application, there should be an area where it asks if you're willing to travel, if you put yes.. your hands are tied, if it says no... they can not make you.

Simply tell them, 'i do not want to travel'... this is not my job and i will not be compensated for it.

Only if they lay you off will you get unemployment I believe. I mean they can fight giving you unemployment if they have stuff documented on you, not saying they do. I would go to HR and file a complaint but most likely HR will then contact who the complaint is made against and then they can really make your life like hell. Can you take a medical or family leave of abesnce from the place? I know someone who took a family leave, no one is really sick, with the hope they will lay her off bc she hates her job too.

This is what I'm told by ppl I know who are in HR and other positions, they can access your facebook, myspace, blogs, etc and see if you're posting anything related to work and/or lack of.

I try not to believe it because I personally think its a crock of sh!t, but I've had more then one person tell me this.

I think most jobs can track the sites you visit and since this is a public site -- they can easily track down your posts. I would actually be VERY careful about writing about your job on here. I know from experience how petty people can be and will go out of their way to screw you over. If anyone at work knows you post on here -- you are at risk of them seeing it. I'm just looking out for you -- I would ask client services to delete the thread to be safe. I havent had issues with work...but I have serious stalkers that run and tell people everything I write on here. You never know.

I've seen it happen firsthand in cases I've handled for employment law disputes. (mind you I continue to post, i'm just careful about what I say about my job when i'm frustrated). what's even more frightening is that i googled myself today and the first thing on the list was my facebook page. always be careful ladies.
