so tonight is one of the other teachers last recital.. he's been accepted to AMDA and is moving to the city in October (2 days after my wedding)... well I got him a little plaque thats really cute and I got a poster board and had everyone sign it at rehearsal, I had my mother paint on it 'Good Luck Mr. Danny, We love you!' and in the card I got him I wrote- 'just a reminder of all the people who love and support you and shared the stage as you took your final bow' I cried while writing the card.. and I cried last night during his first number (he's in the opening, along with a bunch of other numbers) I already know he's going to be a mess tonight... when they call his name to take his bow... talking about it we both cry.
so.. I need opinions. Do I give him the gift, sign and card BEFORE recital, where I know he'll read it and appreciate it and thank everyone.. or do I wait till after the curtin closes and give it to him then (when everyone is crowding him and he gets all bitchy and emotional) my other issue is... if I give it to him after, he goes into the teacher/senior dressing room.. he'll see the HUGE, BRIGHT YELLOW poster.
urgh- I've been planning this for weeks, but never figured out WHEN to give it to him!
thanks girls
