NWR: Need opinions about a 2nd job (sry long)

I currently have this job now that I started in the summer but since the school year is starting my hours have decreased dramatically..... 3-3 1/2 hours a day

I've been thinking about getting a second job for the obvious reasons. My best bet is to get a job with FH since his company has this thing about keeping family together blah blah blah...

Here's the dilemma:

I can work in one position but the person holding the interviews for it hasn't been able to give me an interview date and idk when she will. If I do this I can work in the same location as FH.

I can work in a different position which I could easily get an interview for but it requires 2 weeks training in Farmingdale so I'd have to ask for 2 weeks off from my other job. If I do this I'd have to work in a different location as FH but I'd make more money.

What do you girls think? I just feel like asking for 2 weeks off would be a bit much at the moment but I need to secure another job like yesterday

Honestly- Working in the same place as FH might not be the best idea. It does cause issues when you work with family-TRUST ME. (I work with 2 aunts and my sister at the moment) I used to work with FH and he always expected special treatment!

Two weeks isn't all that long when you know you will be making more money-- every little bit helps.

I say go for it being that you know it is a sure thing, and you wont have to wait for an interview.

Let us know how it all goes.

I agree that working with FI is not a good idea. While I was with my ex I started working at his job and let me tell you he was a total A$$ when it came to work. He turned into a completely different person while at work and a person I didn't like to be around (wasn't the reason we broke up but definitely the reason why I decided it'd be best to not work there).

I'd go for the other option. Good luck!

I agree that it might be a little difficult to work at the same job as your FH...unless you two are in totally differnent rolls and aren't in the same department. As much as i love my FH it's nice going to work and having my 'work friends and 'work life' seperate from our relationship. I couldn't deal with seeing him everyday AND living together.

But each persons relationship is different and ultimately it's your decision :)

But 2 weeks really isn't that long to wait. Especially if the lady is unavailable; it's not like someone else will snag the job.

Good luck!!

Also-i'm looking for a 2nd job myself! The wedding planning is expensive! I like the idea of knowing I have my FT job money; and then an extra $400-$500 coming in that can just go towards the wedding
