NWR-needs suggestions on a gift

My 20 year old cousin (who is also the godfather to our oldest daughter)
just joined the military and is scheduled to leave for boot camp this Monday.

My aunt(his mother) is having a little get together for him tonight and we wanted to give him a little gift.
he really isn't allowed to bring to much with him when he leaves...

Any suggestions on a little good luck gift that we can give..

any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Can he bring stuff with him like care package?
I would try to find what are his favorite snacks or goodies and put it in a basket. just a thought.

What are his interests? Is he spritual? Maybe some sort of prayer or meditation card (wallet size). Does he have some sort of religious medal?

as far as what my aunt told me, he isn't allowed to bring food, phone cards or really to much of anything else.

I like the idea of a spiritual medal, but how do I know which is a good one to give him?

I was also thinking of getting him an address book with all of the families addresses in it so he can write to us.

thanks for the suggestions-Keep em' coming.

I am Catholic and for each of the children in my family, my mom gave us a miraculous medal when we went away to college, to protect us while we were away from home.

St. Christopher is the patron saint of travelers, and St. Joseph the patron saint of fathers. These 2 are medals you could probably find easily in a jewelry store or religious goods store.
