Uh I'm in a sticky spot. I was recently hired for a job (very excited) but the salary that was suggested at my interview was different then the salary I was just offered over the phone. I HATE being put in these uncomfortable positions. How would you handle it? I did tell the HR person the salary difference and he is looking into it.

Re: NWR Negotiating Salary
I don't know why I feel like such a nuisance. I guess I just fear that by sticking up for myself it could hurt my chances at the job, even though I was offered the position. AHHH I hate this.

Re: NWR Negotiating Salary
If they come back and say that they will only offer you the lower salary then just tell them you were under the impression that you would be recieving the higher salary and now that they are offering lower you will have to reconsider the position with them and you will get back to them within the next few days. If they really want you bad they will meet in the middle and offer you something more...If they dont offer anything more, than thats not a company you would want to work for (if they are nickel and diming new employee's can you imagine what they do to their current employee's on a daily basis?)

ITA - except if you're in a real bind tho, you can consider taking the lower end if they won't meet you in the middle and continue to search for something else.
