I don't know any of my neighbors. Weird I am aware but everyone around here kind of keeps to themselves. Anyway my neighbor has a floodlight in their backyard that points directly into my bedroom window and its on all night long and I am having a hard time sleeping because of this. It probably was like that for a while but we just cut a bunch of bushes down that were most likely blocking it. I feel really weird going over there to talk to them since they've lived year over a year and we have never had any interaction with them. Their house is for sale anyway - would it be totally inappropriate to put a note in their mailbox?? WWYD? TIA

I would! As long as its a nice note with lots of 'thank you's' in it...

As long as your note is really nice, I don't think there is a problem with it. This reminds me of that movie that came out last year, can't remember the name though. He was a cop and his neighbors moved in and they were constantly having problems with him. Anyway, totally off-track, but good luck.

ugh how annoying! write a letter say what is wrong and offer a suggestion on how to fix the situation. If they dont answer or fix it invest in a new window treatment.

Honestly, I think a note is inapproriate, since you are neighbors it would be better to say something in person - jmo. When you see them outside you say something casual or even just knock on the door and say something.

i would go over them and speak with them instead, youre more likely not to sound bitchy than in a note (not that your bitchy, its just that notes dont have a tone and can be misinterpreted sometimes), especially since their moving i dont think theyll have a problem

Re: NWR: Neighbor issue WWYD
Personally I would go over and talk to them. If I got a note from a neighbor who I have never even talked to I would ignore it probably. But if you just polietly go over and talk to them show them you are a nice person who just wants to sleep. I think they would be more accomodating.

I think you should go over and talk to them about it, but I understand how that can be awkward and uncomfortable. Whatever you do, I hope everything gets fixed!!

Yeah, leave a nice, polite note. Hopefully they aren't dooshbags

I agree with everyone else. A polite note is fine.

I wouldn't definitely go over and say something. Just be nice and polite about, I'm sure they will understand.
