NWR Neti pot

Hi ladies,
So I stayed home **** today with a sinus infection and my doctor suggested I try a Neti Pot. Have any of you ever used this? I think I did it wrong bc I felt like I was drowning lol

Yes! I don't usually use the pot b/c I find the squeeze bottle easier. But unfortunately it does kind of feel like your drowning. Is it going in one nostril and then out the other?

I did once and literally felt like I was going to drown. The commercial makes it look so easy. It really doesn't come out the other nostril. I wish it worked, it looks like it would be so relieving.

At first no...it was kind of just in one I guess. I dont know the whole thing freaks me out. I'm going to try using Luke warm water instead of cold.

I have used it before and it wasn't that bad. FH uses the squirt bottle and that seems much easier.

Lol never tried!!! However, I literally cannot tolerate when the heat comes on ! I wake up every morning with a severe bloody nose and my face is swollen due to the heat! So if you have long term issues like all winter log, I highly recommend an ultrasonic humidifer! Best $200 I have ever spent and I truly never felt better!! All those mornings of a dry burning throat and horrible bloody noses are gone!!! Also helps so much with post nasal drip, I barely have one anymore!

Hope you feel better!!!

I have used it. you need to boil the water first or use bottled. I think it works great you have to breathe out of your mouth while you do it and slowly breathe so you don't suck in the water up your nose (even though that's kind of where it's going) hard to explain but works well

I'm too scared to use it. I've heard that it does wonders, and I have chronic sinus infections from one not being treated when I was younger, but I hate when things go up my nose. I used to tell my mom she had nothing to worry about, I'd never try any drug you snort bc I couldn't bring myself to put anything up my nose. LOL

THIS! My allergist told me I have 50% breathing in each nostril! I was like cool, 50 and 50 is 100...he's like no, it doesn't work that way. I had sinus infections 8-12x a year, Had to get three surgeries on my sinuses and I'm still on a daily regimen of allergy pills and tissues...The kids i babysit make fun of me b/c they literally think im allergic to EVERYTHING (and I kind of am!)

Please make sure you use distilled water! I was obsessed with mine for a while until my doctor handed me a copy of a huge report from a study done on them. Using regular tap water in 75% of cases studied, caused parasites to grow in the brain cavities. OMG scared me enough not to use it ever again!
