NWR - Not looking forward to this week

I'm working an 85 hour work week this week......please, SOMEONE KILL ME!

Today i'm working from 8am-10pm....i already have a stomach ache from nerves. I hate this rotation....i wanna be back in my ER.

Residency stinks so hardcore.

oh my goshhh thats so crazy! I feel bad when people are pulling overtime on 60 hour weeks. You need to find like 10-15 minutes out of your day to get away from everyone , meditiate or maybe hit some yoga poses. Otherwise your form of relaxation will be hitting whoever tells you, you look tired :)

For the bride who asked, i'm an ER resident at a level one trauma center in the bronx.....but currently i am doing my OBGYN rotation (every intern has to do 4 weeks).

I'm insanely depressed and the days just last so long. Plus, i'm going to be working with some mean attendings in a few days....i already wanna cry.

Didn't they cap the number of hours that residents are allowed to work?

Kinda, i believe its 85 hours.....but no one very really follows it. Plus if i'm in the middle of something and it hits hour 85...its not like i'm gonna drop everything and run, i still need to take care of my patients.

I hate this rotation.

Completely empathize! At my ED, the residents work way past their time as well. I leave my shift come back the next night....and they are still there ...Inhumane!!
