is anyone a notary? if so how do u go about become authorized to be a notary public?

what kinds of test is it? and wht would be the benefit of becoming one?? can u actually make $$ on the side?

I took a 5-hour course and a few days later took a test (multiple choice).... I did it through my job so I don't usually charge when I notarize things; there are set fees you can charge depending on what you're notarizing. I think it ranges from $0.50-2.00 per HTH
