NWR: NYC Restaurants

NWR: NYC Restaurants

FH and I want to try a new place in the city on Saturday night. We are going to a comedy show so we dont want to spend a ton on dinner...probably around $100ish. Any suggestions? Not seafood or anything spicy, I'm picky! Has anyone ever been to Dip? Is it good?

I heard the Dips food is just OK. It's more the whole experience that draws people in. I love Rain which is Tai food. Where in the city are you going?

We are going to Carolines to see Jim Norton's comedy show at 10:30 on Saturday night so we were probably going to go in and have dinner around 7ish.

AHHHH i cant find it, they might've moved it to the NWR forum

Ok yeah part of the city? that would help

Ok if you are looking to save money and want great food then how about carmines. Its great bc its family style so lets say you and your FH get a pasta dish it can be about $18-25 but its for both of you so its great, usually for me depending what pasta i get its more than enough, but you can also get a meat dish and it still can come out to about 40-50 total

We have done Carmine's before...I think we did that for our 1st anniversary when we were 19...The food is awesome but we want to go somewhere new!

Ok so that's in the theater district. I would reccomend Carmine's (if it's more than just two people). I also like Virgils BBQ. It's kinda a 'touristy' place but the food is awesome. I'm trying to think of places that are within walking distance. Mars2112 is near there but the food is kinda weird and you said you were picky. I'll keep thinking!

Ok theres one place I LOVE!!! its not that far from carolines, its about a 5 min train ride or you can walk if you are in the mood to walk. its on 62nd and 3rd ave and its called Cabana, its cuban food and SOOO GOOD!!! now the thing is that the food ranges from $18-20something per plate, so if you dont have too many drinks it will be fine. Actually you should be good, fh and i usually get drinks so thats why and FH will have a couple of scotches so thats what adds on

Spankys is in the same area (on 43rd) and also has pretty decent BBQ AND they have great bartenders who love to give away free drinks.
