NWR: NYC TEACHERS ... how many sick days do we get???

10 i think. I know we get two personal days also. Ask your UFT rep; they'd know.

8 sick days, 2 personal days. They also make allowances for doctor's notes.

You get one day per month worked which equals 10 days. (A new day gets added to your CAR Bank on the fifteenth of each month.) 2 of those 10 days can be personal. If you go over the ten days in one year, you will get a docked for each day over and a diciplinary meeting with principal unless you have medical documentation for enough days to bring you back under 10. In that case, you would 'borrow' the days that you went over the ten from the next year. I've been in the system for over seven (YIKES!!) years now, so if you have any other questions, feel free to ask away...where do you work?
