Hey Girls

Dr. Robert Schwartz is awesome. He is actually Sara's Schwartzs' father. They have a practice together. I believe he's the head of the OB/GYN dep. in Good Sam hospital.

All the females in my family go to Dr. Mark Pillitteri on Deer Park Ave. in Deer Park. He saved my sisters baby girl and possible my sister as well. She has a previously unkown genetic clotting disorder and he does sonograms at every prenatal appointment so he found a clot when it was just forming. She was sent to a MFM and mommy and baby survived with no complications thanks to Dr. Mark catchiong it so early. The exam itself is quick but you do usually have to wait if you go at popular times. I feel he is well worth the wait.

South Bay OBGY is in West Islip. They have a website www.southbayobgyn.com

I second them! I see Lester but she wasn't in last week and I saw Hernandez. They are both great! and QUICK!

Re: NWR - OB/GYN West Islip Area

I was a patient of South Bay OB/GYN and ended up in Good Sam hospital due to extreme morning sickness and dehydration. They left me in the hospital for days, without interpreting my Ultrasound or even letting me know what was going on. They made the extreme decision to have a PICC line inserted, and after it was inserted incorrectly, I had to scream in pain for 12 hours before the nurses at Good Sam hospital would listen to me that something was wrong. When they called up South Bay OB/GYN's emergency service at 3 am, the doctor on call said 'I can't do anything NOW' WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU ON CALL FOR IF YOU CAN'T CARE FOR YOUR PATIENTS??!!! Plus, if South Bay OB/GYN doctor on call had listened when I first complained of being in pain at 3 pm, she wouldn't have gotten her butt woken up. So... after all that, I left the hospital AMA at 3 am, after the PA on call at the hospital removed the PICC line. When I went to South Bay the next day, Dr. Jurak sent me for an ultrasound to make sure I didn't have any blood clots in my arm. She took a week to get back to me to tell me that my arm was fine, but all the while, I was in a lot of pain, and still vomitting. Plus, I had a kidney infection, and Dr. Jurak repeatedly told me to stop taking the antibiotics. Well, when I stopped listening to her, and took the full course of antibiotics, I stopped vomitting. They are idiots at that practice!! I think that it's also a lot worse because the doctors who saw me in the hospital knew nothing of my medical background, nor did they research it, so they knew none of my other medical issues which all compounded and made my symptoms worse. If the doctors who had seen me at the office had been the doctors who had seen me at the hospital, I don't think I'd be as pissed off. Another thing, when I called upset and needing help, Dr. Judge was very rude and sarcastic to me. That man is messed up, and honestly, I don't think I'd ever go to a male OB/GYN after his blatant disregard for my pain and feelings... and that's not saying that all men are bad, but they can't give birth themselves, they've never experienced a period, so they should have no say in my birth plan or my periods.

South bay is good for a typical visit but they can be very busy and sometime rude for other reasons. My mother went there for years with no problems. But when she was diagnosed with breast cancer they were extremely incentive and I had to take her out of their office crying.
They told her they couldn't help her and refused to refer her to a surgeon Dont ask me why but they did.
They also said they werent sure what could help her but again did not refer her to a specialist.

Both of us changed our OBGYN after that (North Shore Dr Snider is amazing)

And I am happy to say that she has been cancer free for almost 6 years.
