Re: NWR (obviously) Pork Chops

# 1/2 cup olive oil
# 1/3 cup soy sauce
# 4 scallions, washed and cut in 1/2
# 2 large cloves garlic
# 1/4 cup lime juice
# 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
# 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
# 3 tablespoons dark brown sugar or Mexican brown sugar

In a blender, put in oil, soy sauce, scallions, garlic, lime juice, red pepper, cumin, and sugar and puree. In a large heavy duty, zip top bag, put in pork chops and pour in marinade. Seal bag, removing as much air as possible. Allow pork to marinate for at least 1 hour in refrigerator.

You can either bake the pork chops, or as I prefer, pan sear them and finish them off in the oven

I like Shake n Bake too!! But instead of applesauce, I use Saucy Susan which is kind of like a duck sauce & I put it on top of the shake n bake while the pork is in the oven, mmmmm

Re: NWR (obviously) Pork Chops

ooo this one's good - i got it from either shape or fitness magazine. I love it and i was never really one for pork chops...
I make 1/2 this recipe for the 2 of us

6 3/4-inch-thick boneless pork loin chops (1 1/2 to 1 3/4 lbs total)
2 tbsp packed brown sugar
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp orange juice
2 tbsp snipped fresh cilantro
1 tbsp red-wine or cider vinegar
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried oregano, crushed
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
3 garlic cloves, minced
cooking spray

1. trim fat and place chops in a resealable plastic bag set in a shallow dish.
2. in a small bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients. pour marinade into bag over chops, seal bag, and turn to coat chops.
3. place bag in refrig at least 2 hrs, turning occasionally. discard marinade.
4. lightly coat a grill pan with cooking spray. Cook chops over medium heat 12 to 15 minutes, or until juices run clear, turning once.

Re: NWR (obviously) Pork Chops

here ya go

Spicy Pork Roast with Rosemary Potatoes

For the pork:

1 tbsp cumin seeds
1/2 tbsp red pepper flakes
1/2 tbsp whole black peppercorns
2 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp salt
1 (3 lb) pork roast, cut into 4 steaks (im sure you could just use pork chops instead)

For the potatoes:
3 russet potatoes cut into 1 inch cubes
2 sprigs rosemary, stripped
2 tbsp evoo
salt

For the sauce:
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1 cup oj
1 tbsp butter

Preheat oven to 400

To prepare the pork: Place cumin, red pepper and peppercorns into a spice grinder and blend to a powder (i used a magic bullet and left it a lil chunky)
Place in a small bowl and mix in garlic powder and salt, rub mixture over pork and let sit at room temp for 30 minutes

Meanwhile, in a med. bowl toss potatoes with rosemary evoo and salt. In a small saucepan, bring sugar vinegar and oj to a boil, reduce to a simmer and continue cooking until reduced by half (about 10-15 min) Remove from heat, swirl in butter and keep warm

In a lg. castiron skillet, heat 2 tbsp veggie oil. When pan is smoking hot, sear pork on both sides. Move to middle of pan, and add the potatoes around the pork. Place in oven for 40 min, until pork is cooked through and potatoes are tender.

Serve drizzled with sauce.

There are pork chops being served as one of the dishes at my wedding. Now it's wedding related!

I usually marinate my pork chops in sazon, smashed garlic and oil overnight. Fry them over a medium high heat and serve with wedges of lime.

I usually just bread them with some extra seasonings thrown in, bake them and serve them with garlic mashed potatoes.
