I work from home two - three days a week, so the perception for a lot of people is that I am NEVER here. I just received an email from a co-worker saying that she noticed I am never here, so was wondering if she could switch cubicles with me. I've been working here for almost four years and it has taken me forever to get a seat near the window...which makes the days I am here so much better b/c I can see daylight and it's really quiet over here. Is it really rude of me to tell her I'd rather not switch. She's on the events team...so most of her team is also out of the office alot...so I think she just as easily could have asked one of them.

I don't think its rude at all to tell her no!!
Just because you're able to work from home on occassion, doesn't mean you're not entitled to a nice, quiet spot in the office when you're there!!
But be polite in your response of course...or she might get annoyed and run to HR!!

i think its very rude of her to ask you to switch, you have obviously worked to get that spot and she is probably jealous that you are not in the office all of the time

she is extremely rude to ask that. just say no, i dont think you need an explanation to something like that. but if you want to give one, just say that you are there, you would like to reap the benefits of what you worked so hard for.
people are so rude

I would respond and tell her pertty much what you said to us about how it took you so long to get that seat that you're not quite ready to give it up. Offer her some other possible solutions.

i really think you deserve that spot more than anything because you've worked hard to earn it.
