NWR: Overheard on the LIRR this morning . . .long
This is unlike me, because this post is NWR AT ALL, but I had to share for all my fellow LIRR riders . . .
On my way into work in the mornings I usually sit next to this group of women who TALK the whole way into the city. They are hysterical though and generally very entertaining – a real bunch of cougars too. The conversation this morning went something like this:
Train lady 1: Who’s that actor that’s dating Reese Witherspoon?
Train lady 2: Oh, I know. Germaine something.
Train lady 3: Yeah, he’s in a movie now, Citizen something or other, with that guy.
Train lady 1: He’s so cute! What’s his name?
Train lady 4: Gerard something. He was just dating Jennifer Aniston.
Train lady 2: Oh yes, he has an Irish accent, I know who you are talking about.
[In row behind, I’m thinking: ???WHAT???]
Train lady 1: I just saw him in that movie.
Train lady 2: The one with Sandra Bullock?
Train lady 3: Yes! I saw that movie the other night – The Proposal. That was a funny movie.
All ladies agree.
Apparently they are imaging some interesting mix of Jake Gyllenhall, Gerard Butler, Colin Farrel?, and Ryan Reynolds. I was trying so hard not to laugh, but I was DYING, hahahaha. And I love how none of them were ever at any point talking about the same person, or were even close, but they all agree and talk in such generalized terms. It was too funny.
