So DH and I have been thinking about painting our apartment but I am really torn. The way my apt is I would have to paint the living room, dining room and hallway.
The walls are off white, my carpet and couch are different shades of beige. The room is SO neutral its killing me. We are allowed to paint in our apt we just have to prime it back. It's ALOT of wall so just hanging things up really isnt gonna do much.
ITs a big project and I'm torn on if its going to be worth it. I have been living here about 3 months and we plan on being here another year and 9 months.
Would you paint it or leave it?

Re: NWR: Painting
I would leave it...I would be too lazy lol....And 9 months to a year will fly by! You're just going to have to do the work again when you prime it! Get bright pillows and accents (Candles, Sculptures etc)

Re: NWR: Painting
personally, whenever i move into a new space, i like to paint. it's a lot of work, but i like getting rid of other people's germs
i used the color lightweight beige in the living room of the house we just bought and it is like a mild yellow. behr paint - it's like $20 per can and i did two coats. I think i used 3 cans and did the whole living room hallway and office

I say paint too, we always do...
But, FH used to work for his Dad's painting business, so he's really quick and good at it

Re: NWR: Painting
ehhhh if it was a hideous color, I'd say paint but if it's neutral and not a permanent home, I think I'd leave it.
Mainly because DH and I have been renovating our house and I hate painting. It blows. Especially if you already have furniture in the space and ahve to move it all around, cover the floors etc. I guess i'm lazy but i'd leave it
there was wallpaper everywhere and we plan to live there for many years so I had no choice

I'd say leave it as is. 9 months go by rather quickly and painting is not easy.

I would do the following to bring in color...
Add bright artwork Curtains Area rug on top of the carpet in a color Throw pillows and blankets on the neutral couch

This- 9 months is like a FLASH. Throw color in using details- couch pillows- vases- rug. Pick a new color or colors and head to HomeGoods.

Re: NWR: Painting
Thanks ladies. It is a year and nine months so it is a bit of time. Fh and I are going to look at colors and see what we think. Still not completely decided but i think I am leaning towards painting.
