NWR: Passports

Hello Ladies!
My company is sending me to the UK for a week at the end of January or beginning of February. I don't have a passport...I am taking care of everything this weekend. Any idea how long it takes before you get it? Will I probably be going at the end of Feb or beginning of March?

yeah throughout this past year since the new regulations have gone into effect some do get it on time and others waited a long time...it would be great if they did get it in order now

yeah maybe... but i wouldnt take any chances if the trip is really close!

yeah but with the way its been lately, some ppl have had to wait like 3-4 months...last year it happened to FH, he waited over 2 months and the week before our trip we had to write a letter to say we were leaving soon and luckily they fedex'ed the package the DAY before we had to leave

some get lucky and get it on time others have had alot of trouble, even on LIW there were alot of girls who waited a while

this is what me & FH heard before we applied for ours... but really, ours came in 2 weeks!! so maybe it got better recently?!

I used to have to go to that! Too funny! The company I'm at now is a completely different industry but I'll be there the same dates as that show. I'll be meeting up with old colleagues and friends then!

Oh we have to meet up!!!!!!!! I don't want to spend a week talking broadcast engineering with a bunch of Brits!!!

yeah ive heard numerous stories like this...luckily fh got his already and i renewed mine when i was 21 and still have a few years left on it

I think like 3 months or something like that....but you can pay for an expedited passport...I think it is pretty expensive though...

Chyron was one of our clients! I left the company over a year ago and I know Chyron was shaky with things going on so I never heard of Pro-Bel. We should definitley meet up! Denise, do you know what hotel your staying at yet?

do it expediated to get it faster....i applied for mine and FHs at the same time, he got his in 7 days i got mine in 9 days

well most of 2007, in the beginning of the year there were alot of problems, and even now but supposedly its getting better...well its not something they expected although they should've considering they made new laws that required for more ppl to get their passport.

the passport office is back on track with getting non-rushed passports back to people in 6-8 weeks, faster if you expedite. they don't have the backlog now

i didnt read the whole thread so this might have been answered

BUT

i got mine in about 2 weeks, just paid an expedite fee at the post office. try there before rushing into the city etc. it was cake to get it done.
