For my wedding gift my wonderful FH bought me a strand of pearls and matching earrings! Does anyone know what is entailed to have them shortened? Is it expensive? I figure someone on here should know! Thanks
My FMIL has had pearls shortened, and I don't think it was too expensive. I really have no idea how much it is, but I know if it had been expensive she would have just bought new pearls, --she wouldn't have gone through the process of changing them.
It's not expensive at all, but there are other options other than permanently shortening them. I'm borrowing my Mom's pearls for my wedding, but I wanted them shorter. Our jeweler made it so that it can be worn longer or shorter (by taking off a removable part of the strand). You can't tell at all- looks perfect.
