I have been on it for a little over a day now and my stomach is a MESS, does anybody know if this is normal? Should I stop taking it?? My DR's office is close now and I don't think this classifies as an emergency so I don't want to call that other number. Any help would be great,
Thanks

Re: NWR: Penicillin
Antibiotics sometimes kill the good bacteria in your stomach...you can replace that bacteria by eating yogurt

Re: NWR: Penicillin
An upset stomach can very well be a side effect of penicillin: you could have mild nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or abdominal pain,
although if you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking penicillin V and seek emergency medical attention:
an allergic reaction (shortness of breath; closing of your throat; hives; swelling of your lips, face, or tongue; rash; or fainting); · seizures; · severe watery diarrhea and abdominal cramps; or · unusual bleeding or bruising.

I agree with the taking with food. but if you still don't feel well, I would definately call the doc and see if you may be allergic

Re: NWR: Penicillin
I had a root canal and the doctor gave me penicilin. I just finished it yesterday. I didn't have any problem and I had to take it 4 times a day.

Re: NWR: Penicillin
I had bad stomach issues with one antibiotic. Sometimes it as a reaction that can be fixed by having the Dr. switch the meds....
