NWR- Pet Flights

Good afternoon ladies!

Okay so FH and I are making arrangements to fly down to see my family for Christmas and I would really like to bring my dog. Problem - he is a 100lb golden. He doesn't have to fly down with us, I wouldn't mind flying him separately but I am having a hard time getting quotes from 'pet airlines'.

Anyone have any experience with this?? Maybe any recommendations?

Also, it's so weird that when we book the tickets I am going to have to book under my married name!!!! Wowza!

you can travel with your dog as cargo. each airline lets u fly your dog as cargo. if you know your airline google pet cargo and the airline name or call the airline directly.

ohh i really would avoid flying your dog as cargo...it's hard to regulate the temp in there and if the plane gets delayed for whatever reason the dog could be very uncomfortable or in danger. I would research this heavily... Sometimes it's less stressful for your dog to stay home with a sitter

Crashing!!

I recently flew from Seattle back to NY with FH's two cats. We didn't have them in cargo, and I'm SO glad we didn't. We had them with us (they go under the seat) and it was totally traumatizing for both them AND us. I can't even imagine not having them with us on the flight. I will never fly with a pet again!!

We flew with Continental. They should have their information on their website.

HTH!
