Does anyone have insurance on their pet, in case they get sick, need xrays/MRI's, surgery, etc? What company did you use, and what approx do you pay monthly? I am considering VPI, if anyone knows anything about them? Thank you!

I don't have it but my future brother-in-law does. I will ask him and let you know.

Re: NWR: Pet Insurance
I use VPI and I love them! It is so easy to submit for reimbursement and they give back a decent amount!! I submitted for Darwin's (my mini schnauzer) annual visit and then I had to take him back for his dermatitis and I got back $250 and I submitted around $325.
I think it is just good to have... not only for the annual stuff but god forbid something serious ever happened!!!

Re: NWR: Pet Insurance
thanks for the input! I had a scare today, my mini dachschund hit his head on the coffee table while jumping onto the couch. He then started walking funny, then ran full speed headfirst into the wall. Then he started having seizure like symptoms. DH and I rushed him to an emergency vet, and thank God, he was ok. He just had a concussion, and seems to be doing alot better.
I think its best to be safe and pay for insurance each month, just in case! Today had the potential to cost alot of $$$...

Re: NWR: Pet Insurance
I have pet insurance from the Animal Hospital inside of PetSmart (Banfield Animal Hospital)...it's their best plan, and its $37/month...I've only had it for 4 months it has already saved me $1,000...and thats with the dog only being sick once needing an x-ray and some pepcid for dogs.

Re: NWR: Pet Insurance
i used to use VPI - they were helpful but be aware of illnesses that they might consider pre-existing conditions.
