I was talking on the phone with my parents tonight, and someone stole my dad's $700 digital camera out of their house! It was there and then it disappeared during the same time that the service guy came to fix their air conditioning! It's a pretty big camera, so I'm sure it wasn't misplaced. I feel so bad. My dad was recharging it for this weekend since they are coming to NY tomorrow. I hate people. I just feel like he was violated, and I'm very protective of my dad. I hope this creep loses his job over this.

Yeah, they said they were going to do it on Monday after they get back from their trip. But I'm going to call them tomorrow and tell them to either call the company before they leave, or take the phone number with them and they can call once they get here.

No, not yet. My parents called the company this morning, and left a message because they weren't opened yet. They had to get on the road for their trip, so I told them to bring the phone number with them so they can call from FILs' house when they get here. My dad is a fighter though, so I am sure he will take action against them. They are just worried because it is the guy's word against theirs.

I was temping at Nikon this summer & another thing he should do is write a letter to the camera company and report the serial number as stolen. If the creep brings it to an authorized dealer to be repaired, it will show up as stolen & your dad may get the camera back.
He should file a police report.

I am so sorry that is horrible and not a good way to enjoy the rest of your time together. I hope you have another camera. Definitly report the guy to the police. Unfortunatly without real proof there is nothing to do and the guy probably already pawned it. Sorry
