NWR: Please read this could happen to you!! - sorry so long

Okay, so I was checking my e-mail account and I found an e-mail from one of my friends from my prior job. It said the following:

'I'm writing this message to you with sadness. I traveled down to London for a short vacation and unfortunately for me, i was mugged at Knife point last night at the park of the hotel where i lodged and all cash,credit cards and cell phone were all taken away.

I've been to the US embassy and the Police here but they're not helping issues at all, My flight leaves in less than 5hrs from now and i am having problems settling the hotel bills.

The hotel manager won't let me leave until i settle the hotel bills now am freaked out. I need a loan from you to return back home and i want you to get back to me if you will be able to help me.'

I was shocked, but then thought it didn't sound like my friend. So I gave my friend a phone call....and guess what....he tells me right off the bat....I am OK!!!

Seems someone hacked into his hotmail account and sent that e-mail to all his friends. Since he had been laid off I didn't know if he was in London or not. So just be careful and be on the lookout for scammers!!!

I don't know but I am just glad I called him first...coz I am one of those people who just runs to the rescue when someone needs my help....

Similar situation happened to someone I went to elementary school with. We're friends on facebook, but not like we communicate regularly or anything, and someone hacked into her account and was actually chatting with me on fb chat. I thought, the nerve! I don't know her that well but I knew it wasn't her. There are all kinds of crazy scammers out there.

That happened to a friend from college I dont often speak to a yr ago (ish).

I knew something was weird b/c everything was spelt wrong and she is a very anal speller.

a similar thing happened to me on facebook! one of my freinds started chatting with me live on facebook ! i was talking to this weirdo from god knows where and they where pretending to be him!!!! they hack into facebook accounts too!! the person said the same story u described and proceded to beg me for money!! thank god i didnt give it too him bc it sounded so strange!!!
