NWR: Pregnant?? **UPDATE**

Original post by FutureMrsRice

Ok.... well if there isn't enough stress and craziness with 11 days till my wedding...

Here are my symptoms:

1. I have been carsick like nauseous for about 2 weeks.... I thought I had the start to the stomach flu but I never got sick.

2. I literally can't be in the same room with meat. Any kind. The smell, look anything can make me throw up. Weird.

3. I am exhausted. All I do is sleep which is not like me at all.

4. I am 4 days late on my period. (I think that is the kicker)

Weird thing is, I took 2 pregnancy tests, one yesterday and one the day before and both were negative.

What do you think??

***************************************************
Hi Everyone!

I went to the doctor yesterday and explained to him that I thought I might be pregnant and he says “ok, let's test for that” AND BRINGS OUT A NEEDLE!! No one told me they had to draw blood to test for pregnancy!!

After my slight meltdown about having my blood drawn, they did a quick once over on my blood pressure, temp, etc... They also did some other tests on my blood to make sure I don't have any other weird diseases. Right before I left with a clean bill of health, they came in and told me:

I am not pregnant

It is a big relief and let's me focus more on the wedding right now! My doctor said that the symptoms I am having (especially missed period) are all a result of anxiety, stress and high emotional state (hormones). They won’t know about any of the other tests they did on my blood till later this week, but he said just from experience, he thinks this will all go away after the wedding.

I hope this helps anyone else going through this!!

Thank you for all your help and kind words (although someone really should have told me about that needle!! )

Much love,
Elisabeth

PS: Sorry for not signing on last night, by the time I got home I went straight to bed and then I was in meetings at work this morning -- SO SORRY TO MAKE YOU WAIT!!

STRESS can make people sick. Pregnancy tests are 99% accurate so if you took 2 then it's pretty safe to say that you aren't. Take a nice hot bubble bath and have a glass of wine.

yes, they are VERY accurate; but most people so not test positive BEFORE their period is late

I think it's stress but you should still go get tested.

She is four days late. That's why it sounds like stress. I should own stock in EPT. Everytime I am stressed (work or personal), I end up being late and buy like 6 tests. I have a son so I should know what it feels like but I still freak myself out and end up buying them.

Let's us know how you make out at the doctor. Good luck.

ok i understand that
as a person that is actively TTC; and testing every 2WW- i have read many articles about the highest percentages of being positive are between 4 and 9 days late

Tilde!! Thank god, I'm not alone!!

Yesterday I went to a baby shower and came home and fell asleep at 4pm and slept until this morning! That is like 15 hours of sleep!!

I am going to the doctor in the morning because I need someone sane to look me in the eyes and tell me I'm not preggo and that I am fine and not going to get the stomach bug the night before the wedding (biggest fear, BTW)

my biggest fear too!! a friend of mine is getting married the same day as you and we had this whole conversation about that and in the end i cried myself to sleep that night

Re: NWR: Pregnant??

Its possible.. But I think its just stress....
I used First Response with my daughter...
She must have been sending some strong pregnancy hormones cause it only took about 10 seconds for the line to appear and I found out when I wasnt late for my period... And I was only like 1 week pregnant....

USUALLY you dont feel any sickness for a month or so...
Your first symptoms would be sore boobs and exhaustion, and lots of peeing!
Just try and relax... I think its just excitement/stress from the wedding... Keep us updated with the doctor appt...
And if you are, CONGRATS!!!!

stress can do insane things to your body....the more you worry about your period being late - the later it's going to be...

try to relax - do something just for you!!!

don't bother with the home test if you are going to the dr. You have the right attitude, if you are, it is a blessing, and if not, you'll try on the honeymoon!
Its a win-win situation!
I get really paranoid too, its normal! I was late and was freaking out -- I don't want to get married 7 months pregnant! Luckily I took the test, it was negative, and got my period a couple of days later. But if it were just a few weeks or even a couple of months before the wedding,I would have been totally fine!

You could definitely be pregnant, pregnancy tests don't always come up positive right away, I'd suggest that you go and get a test from your doctor...

it could be stress

it happens to me all the time

when I'm stressed I skip a whole month(my period) and I get really exhausted for no reason. I get nauseous & car sick too...

Ugh... I'm the same way. We are not ready for kids any time soon, especially the next 2-3 years. As soon as I hit the 9-months-till-the-wedding mark I've been evem MORE paranoid about getting pg, especially because right now I'd be 7ish mths pg on my wedding day.

Re: NWR: Pregnant??

pregnancy tests are pretty accurate..just make sure you do another one..after your period is a week late..with the first urine of the day..thats when the levels of hormone are highest..also if your still concerned..get a blood test..they are very accurate..i wouldn't worry to much..stress definately impacts your cycle..my period was a week and a half late last month ...i was super stressed (but on the pill too!!!) I took 2 pregnancy tests..both were negative..
