NWR: Provera UPDATE

has anyone taken Provera to bring on your period? not DEPO-provera, like the birth control shot, just the Provera pill...

i'm freaking out because my period has not yet arrived. we were careful, but im neurotic and always think the worst...

I have heard of it. My doctor prescribes it whenever I do not get my period on time. You take it for about 5-7 days and it brings on your period.

yeah i didnt get period for like 6 months and finally the dr gave me it. he did 6 pegnancy tests first though lol

my gyn did a pg test when i was there, then she prescribed the provera. i dont have any symptoms of pregnancy, other than peeing a lot, but thats cuz im on a water pill.

im going back to the gyn in 2 weeks cuz she found abnormal cells on my last pap but im freaked out about waiting that long for this. she not in today, i already called. im buggin.

I never heard of it either, however, if your doctor prescribed it to you i would take it.

i already took it. its a drug that brings on your period when you dont get it regularly. the problem is youre supposed to get your period when youre done with the pills, and i havent. so im freakin out. :(

It sometimes takes 3-4 days after the last time you took the pill before your period comes. I have even waited up to 7 days. Dont freak out. If you dont get it in 7 days talk to your doctor.

yesterday was the seventh day after the last provera pill. :(

is it possible you are pregnant?

my sister used this before since she has irregular periods and she always freaked out too. once her period took 5 days afterwards before it came, and she was going insane.

the most recent time though she was preg.... with my nephew!

I dont know what to say. I would deinitely talk to your doctor. My doctor has even said 10 days but I have never had to wait that long (my friend had to wait 11 days, and she was really freaking out), either way I would call and see what they say.

You can have mine! I just got it today and I'm feeling sooo crappy.

All joking aside though... I would call your doctor and find out what's going on. Have you ever taken it before?

I have been on provera to bring on my period. I'm pretty sure that it can take up to 10 days after u take the last pill for your period to come. I hope everything turns out ok!
