NWR: question about facials

I've never had a facial, but I'd like to get one this weekend...I can't decide between 2 options, because I don't know what a glycolic peel is...can you please help me?

Option 1: basic cleansing, manual exfoliation, extractions, treatment mask and oxygen therapy

Option 2: All of the above + glycolic peel (this is $35 more than the above)

Re: NWR: question about facials

Glycolic peels can be irritating depending on your skin type. They are pretty good for your skin, but if you havent had one, just beware that you may be red and/or blotchy for a little bit. Sometimes up to 24 hours. So if you are planning on doing anything after, you may wanna skip the peel.
If I were you I would suggest waiting til you meet with the aesthitician (sp???) and ask her what she thinks. Just be cautious as to whether or not she sounds like she really knows what she is talking about or if she is just trying to get you to spend more money.
I have been going to the same woman for years and she is great!!! She really knows her stuff and she never trys to push services or products on me. I decided at the one year mark for our wedding that I wanted to try hard to get facials regularly up until the big day. I spoke with my aesthitician and she said that she will alternate diff facials depending on what she thinks I need.
If you havent had any facials before, maybe you should go with a deep cleaning and decide if you feel comfortable with the place, and then go back another time for the glycolic peel.

thanks for the info and the warning! I think I'll skip the glycolic peel for now as you suggest...the last thing I need is to have more to worry about, I just want to enjoy myself this weekend
