I'm thinking about taking the CST this summer, either the month before my wedding or the month after it. I've taken the LAST and the ATS-W, which weren't too hard, but I've heard that the CST is a little tougher. Do you think I'd be able to handle preparing it amid all the wedding stress? My other option is to wait until the fall and take it while I'm full-time student teaching, which will also be stressful.
I took the CST when i was still in college and it was fine. I didnt prepare for it at all other than look at sample tests. If i remember right the CST had questions about EVERYTHING..like even art questions and dance questions, so its hard to prepare for it.
im taking it i think next month. i would do it before the wedding. :)
When I took the CST there was no essay...it was only 100 questions. The ATS-W and the LAST had 80 questions and an essay each. I only remember from the CST questions were a mix of practicum and common knowledge. There were questions about child psychology and classroom environment, management, parental/administrative support, etc. There were questions on all subject areas. Like I said since it was 100 questions I would say 50% were divided into those subjects. It's really hard to prepare for the test. I can only recommend the test prep books at B&N. If you've been teaching, use your common sense. Learn NYS laws and regulations...that could come in handy!
yeah i dont thinki prepared too much for the CST. honestly i thought it was the easiest one out of the 3! i think i printed out the test off the website and just looked that over - hope this helps
I don't think you should have a problem with it. I actually thought it was easier than the LAST
