So I bought some real nice Betsey sunglasses and then proceeded to check the balance on my credit card bill only to find out someone decided to steal my number and charge a whole lot of money!
Awesome, usually I'm not so naive but I swear I never thought this would happen to me!

I have NO idea how anyone could've gotten my info, I have my card on my at all times. I was able to dispute the charges though so hopefully I will not be paying very much. I had to close the account and I'm off to the bank tomorrow to see if I can talk to someone about it.

they had a story on Channel 4 news last night about it! There are these identity thieves that first charge like 50 cents, and if they get away with it- charge hundreds or thousands of dollars to your account! Everyone should check their statements closely!

Was it bank of america?? I just had that happen recently to my bank account! they refunded the money right away and upon investigation would let me know if I could keep it. Obviously I got to!

Did you make any online purchases with the card? It happens to me often, and during times where that's the only possible way my info could have been stolen. (I rarely use a card in stores). Make sure you call one of the 3 credit bureaus and make sure no other accounts were opened in your name.

Yes, it actually was Bank of America. I am going there tomorrow to see if I could work it out the best I could do at the time was dispute it online and close the account.

A bunch of numbers got stolen a few weeks ago. They sent out new ones. I **** at opening my mail and didn't realized and they closed the other card. They did it to my brother too. i think they know it is an on going problem right now with them. Def. go they will take care of it. I went to take out 600 one night and it owuldn't let me - I had to call customer service to get it approved

Same thing happened to me a couple of years ago! I went to an ATM in my neighborhood and it turns out someone stole my number from that ATM. I had to fight with the bank to get my money back. Now anytime there is an 'unusally high' purchase on my acct, the bank has to call me first before clearing the charges!!! There are thieves everywhere!
