NWR- Really dry/red eyes.. any opthamologists or anyone with advice?

OK, I went to an eye doc a few weeks ago b/c my lower lash lines were a little red. It was barely noticeable but it bothered me b/c I knew something was off. Turns out he said I had a little infection caused by allergies/hay fever. It wasn't contagious like pink eye. So he put me on this antibiotic eye gel (tobradex) for 10 days. I finish the antibiotic and lately my eyes have been getting sooooo red in the morning. People at work have noticed.. (it's not only something I notice). It slowly gets better throughout the day. It's weird b/c it's like tobradex made my eyes worse.

Does anyone experience this? I bought Visine Tears and have been using that and it does help. Today I bought flaxseed oil b/c I read that omega 3 fatty acids help with stimulating tears. I'm starting to take that but I doubt it will help right away. Oh, and I'm going to a different doctor this Wednesday. (I didn't care for the first one).

TIA

do you wear contacts? is it possible it's a reaction to the lenses or solution? i had that happen to me a few years ago and they just switched the brand of lenses.

No. No glasses, no contacts. That's why it's so weird!

My eyes get extremely dry too. My doctor told me to use Genteal PM...it's a eye lubricant that you put on before you go to sleep. It keeps the eye moist.

It feels weird the first few times, and you definitely need to go to sleep right after because it will impair your vision, and if your eyes are open dust or whatever else is floating around can irritate your eye...

Sorry if that sounds scary, it's really really not bad at all, and it has def helped me
