NWR: Really Random Vent

So... back in 2000 I was dating a guy - we lived in Oregon and he was from out here... I loved Wilson form Castaway and cried sooo hard when Tom Hanks lost him in the movie

I bought one of those cheesey little antenna toppers that Blockbuster was selling for .99 for both me and my then bf. It meant a lot just in sentimental value... we drove cross country with the antenna topper on his car (twice) and it just meant something to me.

Fast forward to 2008 that b/f and I have been broen up for some time now ... I'm obviously engaged and happy with my FH so we go into the attic one day because it's stressing him out that we have all this useless junk in the attic.. mostly from my old appartment before I moved in with him.

We had a garage sale - we made $40.00 lol

So the day of the garage sale my FH takes this box and he deems all the stuff in there 'junk' and says he's taking it down to the dumpster... I meant to grab the silly Wilson ball but forgot and said ok.

Oddly enough that night we were watching Castaway on TV and I realized that the Wilson Antenna ball got thrown out and start going insane.
I tell FH that I'm going to dig it out of the dumpster and this and that...
...he thinks I've lost my mind....
I go down there and there is NO WAY I'm getting it out of the dumpster.
I come back and look for it on EBay and it's on sale there for 10.00 I'm thinkin 10 bucks? Are you for real? That's sooo much money!
So I start looking elsewhere for it... I find out it sells for over 50.00 on EBay!!!!!!!!!! (remember we made 40.00 at the darn sale!)

So I watch this item on EBay - it sold for 90.00!!!!

I'm sorry but I'm heartbroken - I told FH today 'that's worth a guest at the wedding and we threw it out!'
OH! I'm so mad!

Thanks girls - I know it's a really silly thing but it's just that it's been through so much with me and even if I wanted to replace it for setimental reasons it would be silly to at this point.

Funny side note - my ex and I are still friendly enough and he offered to buy it for me. There's no way I'd let him tho.

it's not silly it ment something to you.
i forget about stuff all the time and find it some time later then it brings bacjk the memories.

i just checked ebay for you and i saw one for $29 that ends in like 2 hours.. here it is :)
