It's better for him if he's kicked off. Now he won't be under the AI contractual agreements to record what they want him to record. He might actually have a chance to make some money since he was not the winner of AI. Give him a few years and we'll hear from Chris again.

Honestly, you can try but I am not sure that's going to make a difference. If it is fixed and they stopped his line before the others, I am not sure counting is going to help.
I think they need to review the voting process and how legit it is.
I stopped watching the show after the Clay/Ruben votes.
They even admitted at the time that and estimated 50000 votes from LI did not get accounted for in the results due to 'bad telephone connection' or something like that. So whoever voted for Clay or Ruben on LI did not even count.

I agree with this. And it might be even sooner than a few years. I heard that from one of the songs that he performed the band (who was looking for a new lead singer) wanted to offer him the spot. I think it was Fuel or something like that.

Honestly, I dont vote and I thought Chris was great that night. With millions of people like me out there who DON'T vote and really liked someone that person wont win.
In terms of votes being fixed, I dont think FOX fixed them per se, but you can have a room in Vegas filled with telephones from the Hicks, Yamin and McPhee camps to screw up the odds. THAT would make it fixed. The only way the voting can be fair is if there was technology to prevent more than one vote per telephone number (including cell phones). Until and unless that happens, the unfair voting practices will continue. I think its time to move on. Chris will be fine.

In good news about Chris - he offered to be the front man for Fuel last night!!! Hope he takes it - he sounded great in the early stages of Idol singing some Fuel songs!!!!!!!!

He was a good singer but the fact is he cant really sing anything but rock, the others have done well in all genres of music.
I definately do not think he deserved to win, but I do think he may have a career ahead of him, like Catherine & Taylor.

I dont know if we need to worry about that. How many times can one person possibly get through with the same telephone? I myself have NEVER been able to get through ONCE. Its always a fast busy.

That's exactly what I believe also. I can't see him trying to fit into this AI stereotype. I think it's better for him that he's not under the management of AI. I seriously wanted him to win, but now that I think of it, I think he'll be around anyway. You can't deny talent & now that he's been in the public's eye, I'm sure someone will give him a contract.

I agree 100%, I was so over Chris. I think we need to move on, he is off, end of story. I cannot understand why everyone is getting up in arms over this. That is JMHO, he was NOT the best on the show, he did not deserve to win. Ok, rant over....

I dont know if we need to worry about that. How many times can one person possibly get through with the same telephone? I myself have NEVER been able to get through ONCE. Its always a fast busy.
In seasons past, I have voted more than once for the same person in a given week. Many of my colleagues do and I know that many teenagers with cell phone and the ability to text message vote for the same people twice. The lines are open for hours not minutes. This year I had more important things to do than sit on a phone and call American Idol.
