NWR: registering for cookware sets

SO, i'm registering for a stainless steel all-clad cookware set. I cook, but not a lot of fancy stuff- do I or does anyone else need a sauce pan? What do you even need it for - and how does it differ from a saute pan?!

thanks!!!!

I think a saute pan is just like a fry pan- or at least very similar. A sauce pan, is a regular pot- like that you would boil pasta in.....does that make sense? I would say you would def. need both!

I use my sauce pan to heat canned veggies, or heat up sauce in small quanitites. I also use it for making soup.

Hi!
I think you registered for the best stuff (and i don't work for all clad).
I have quite a few of the stainless pcs now, and i registered for a few more.
I use the 3qt saucepan the most b/c more often than not i am cooking for 2 and it holds pasta, all veggies, sauces etc. My second most used item is the saute pan (aka fry pan).
For all clad-i would highly recommend registereing for the stainless nonstick pan. I registered for the 8', 10' & 12' but if i had to pck one it would be the 10'.
If you register for the 10pc set, that should include all of your basics, but the nonstick fry pans don't come in it.
Other items i think are important from All Clad:
*12qt steamer/strainer stock pot set
*small sauce pan 1-2qt
*i use the saucier a fair amount, the 2qt one which could be used instead of the small saucepan
*grill pan
*6qt dutch oven (gives you a med size stock pot)
*3qt skillet

I would not recommend their bakerware. I've tried everything recently and i like the analon bakeware & the silcon bakewre.
Please don't hesitate to ask way, i have a lot of experience in housewares.
Hope this helps!!

Jen
