NWR: Restaurant Recs

OK Ladies my brother and SIL want to take me out to dinner for my B-Day which was on Wed. The restaurant is my choice but I am having a hard time thinking of where to go.

Please suggest your fave restaurants! We would most likely be going either in the city or in LI around the Westbury - New Hyde Park area!

YOU have to try Vincent's clam bar, its in carle place not far from Westbury!

OMG Yes!!! I LOOOVVEEE that place!!!

1.) Sushi Ya on Jericho Turnpike in the Pathmark shopping center at Nassau Blvd. (Garden City Park). It's much nicer than the crowded little one in Garden City. Amaaaazing sushi (special rolls- check out Alliana Roll and East-West Roll...the sashimi deluxe is also good- love the white tuna), and the manager occasionally visits tables with free tastings of flavored sake. They are very friendly, and they have one nice side with booths and tables, as well as hibachi on the other side. They also have cooked stuff- tempura, teriyaki, Thai, and Chinese food, diet options, etc.

2.) Venere on Carman Avenue (and Stewart I think - a different Stewart than the one that runs through Garden City) in Westbury/East Meadow (?). Really nice atmosphere to unwind in and really good food. The balsamic portobello appetizer is sooo good...and so are their salads....although on certain things they use a lot of oil (and it taaastes really good...just makes me feel fat and gives me acid reflux)

No you have to go to Waterzooi, it is amazing if you like mussels and fries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i went there for the first time tonight! it was really delicious. i was so impressed.
